In ancient Ireland, words were more than sounds
for communication. They were vessels of power, weaving the fabric of connection between the seen and the unseen."
Every element in nature was seen as sentient, from water and fire to rocks and trees, all holding wisdom of their kind, speaking a language older than time. Our ancestors believed that
words held the essence of creation itself- each syllable a thread in the tapestry of existence.
To speak was to invoke.
To listen was to remember.
There was a deep understanding that words could be spoken to the earth, to nature. Language was seen as essential for communion with the five elements – and the elements were listening - responding… and changing with the instructions and intentions set into motion through the
words.
These poems are a bridge, carrying echoes
of lost magic into the light of now. May these words speak to your home and your land, and to the spirit weaving its way back through you both.
